Yes nice to see the big Scotsman again. It would be really nice to play CTF again but it would have to be minus the bots as they create havoc on RPM Pro so would need a server restart with bots disabled and another server restart to return to normal. I think we exhausted all the other options of rcon commands.

Wow DooGie that is a lot of IP addresses..... Degem I think we are safe enough ...... ;)

Posted: 14th February 12, 11:07pm

DooGie
Degem IPV6 is actually 128 bits not 64. IPV6 would give Three hundred and forty undecillion, two hundred and eighty-two decillion, three hundred and sixty-six nonillion, nine hundred and twenty octillion, nine hundred and thirty-eight septillion, four hundred and sixty-three sextillion, four hundred and sixty-three quintillion, three hundred and seventy-four quadrillion, six hundred and seven trillion, four hundred and thirty-one billion, seven hundred and sixty-eight million, two hundred and eleven thousand, four hundred and fifty-six IPs However as you say there is a problem as a lot of devices need to be IPV6 compatible, and that includes things like smart fridges which re-order stuff over the internet when stocks get low. Although as Spoony posted earlier , just enable IPV4 and IPV6 on your router.

Posted: 14th February 12, 10:22pm

Degem
ok u dont see the problem. In the near future all ur ip addresses have to go 64 bit instead of 32 bit as is now. So on the changeover do we lose our ip addresses and therefore cannot conect.

Hi Spoony, I've got a total of 8GB system memory and 1.5GB on my graphics card. Running Windows 7 x64 so no probs.

Posted: 13th February 12, 08:00pm

SpoonY
Good price DooGie, did you have any trouble with Win7 recognising more than 8Gb?

Posted: 13th February 12, 06:12pm

Degem go into the properties of your network adapter on both your desktop and laptop, if you have both IPv6 and IPv4 boxes checked then you are ok.

Posted: 9th February 12, 05:03pm

DooGie
It all depends if you have a static or dynamic IP supplied by your ISP. If it's static then that's it your IP won't change, if it's dynamic then it will change but in most cases very rarely. In my case my IP is dynamic but it only changes around twice a year. The only time it can be a pain is if you're an admin on a game server but haven't got rcon, then you have to wait for another admin to come on and restore your admin status.

Posted: 8th February 12, 11:00pm

50_BELLIES
Hi Degem... if you have a static IP address assigned from your ISP then it won't change unless you ask the ISP to change it.... however if you have a dynamic IP address then by resetting your modem/router it will change your IP address as happens with me.

Sorry read that back it was double dutch.I have a laptop and to use it out of house I have a dongle. It has worked perfectly anywhere ive been. But if u reset ur modem in the house does the ip change. Maybe thats clearer.

Posted: 8th February 12, 10:51pm

Degem
Yes seen this Doogie. Ive got permanent ip. But my laptop dos'nt. As with mobile u can move ur computers around. u can reset the modem, then can u lose ur connection, completely. but if u reset ur modem do u then get a signal saying ur ip does not exist.
