Hi all. I fired up SOF2 today - for the second time this year - and man .. do I love the feeling of jumping and shooting SOF2-style :) Are there any servers out the playing the _standard_ _maps_ in DM/TDM and are NOT infested with just bots and RD ? RMG is just not my taste...

Im running an ATI card...i think the problem with the drivers has been sorted now...i have the latest drivers and all is fine on win 7.

The only thing Blu Bludd is to try it as you have your PC and if there is a problem with graphics card drivers you can sort it out. I have an Nvidia card with the latest drivers and it runs fine on Windows 7

Thanks for the speedy response 50 - All being well I'll have an attempt this weekend at getting it up and running. Graphics card wise, I think I read somewhere people had issues (obviously dependent on card type). I cannot remember off top of my head what Ive got but is there anything to be aware of on that front? Great site BTW and hopefully I can get back playing a bit =) Laters Blu

Hello Blu Bludd, there should be no problem installing SOF2 on Windows 7 as many people have done this without problems... With regard to HLSW and Qtracker it is possible to connect to a server using these programmes and as stated you can see what players are on the servers in real time.... V 1.00 or V 1.03 the choice is yours but you can install both versions and have more of a choice if you look at the link you can read about having both versions on your PC... Finally Good Luck with the re-install.

Hi all, been looking into reinstalling SOF2 (I'm sure I still have my copy in the loft somewhere.......hopefully!??!) Its been 5/6 years since I played this game so looking to get back into it, wife / daughter and time dependent =) In readiness does anyone know of a good divorce lawyer? =) Will I get it up and running fine on Windows 7 straight off the CD does anyone know? What's the best version to play v1.00 or v1.03 for actual players. 50_Bellies, you mentioned programs HLSW or Qtracker to track actual players, can you join the servers via this? I spent a lot of time back in the day playing SOF2 even from when there was a dedicated 56K server. It is without a doubt one the greatest games I've been involved with and its great to see the community is still alive, kicking and peeling caps!!! =) If anyone could either give pointers / advice to get started again over the message board or email me at blu_bludd@yahoo.co.uk that would be great. I looked at the usage figures and from July 2003 until current there has been 1, 714, 970, 045 KBytes.Using an online converter it says that is 1.59719 TeraBytes.

The CH server has no reserved admin slots as there is never 26 players on at any time so there is no need to reserve slots..... :D

Degem there are not 2 slots automatically reserved for admins. If you rent a 24 slot server and want to reserve 2 slots for admins then you have to allocate 2 of the 24 slots yourself. Users who are not admins will see the server as 22 slots as a password is needed to use the admin slots.

There are always two slots reserved for admins on any server. They used to be called admin seats. They are there in case server is full and someone is cheating. Therefore the admin can join and kick the cheat.
