Lemonadesoda. There are probably several ways of doing it but this is the way I favour. Down the left hand side of Qtracker there should be a list of various games. Right click on the Soldier of Fortune 2 entry and from the drop down menu select New / Folder, a new folder will be created. You can rename this folder to whatever you want ie SOF2 1.0. Right click the SOF2 icon in Qtracker and select find internet games , this should bring up a list of online servers in the right hand pane of Qtracker, mine shows 135 servers at the moment. Find a SOF2 v1.0 server you want to play on and drag and drop the server over to your newly created folder. If you then open this folder you will see the server you have just dropped there appear in the right hand pane of qtracker. Next step is to right click the new folder and select "Specify install location of this program". Select Soldier of Fortune II, you can then use the browse button to selct the correct sof2mp.exe for the version of game you have dropped into the folder. So for instance if you have both SOF2 v1.00 and SOF2 v1.02 installed you would create 2 new folders v1.0 and v1.02 and in the v1.02 directory drop v1.02 games in from the Qtracker list and point the folder to the correct sof2mp.exe. This way you can easily build up lists of favourite servers. Hope this helps m8 :) Click the link to see how I have Qtracker set out.

Is there a guide anywhere how to make qtracker work more easily with different SOF2 versions, ie. SOF2 1.00 servers need the older .exe, whereas 1.02 need the updated .exe, but all versions show up in the list, and you can only enter one executable link. I might be missing something...

No Lemonadesoda, servers don't have to install anything to get on the Qtracker list. Qtracker has it's own tracking servers. The reason the list doesn't show all servers is probably down to the fact that the Qtracker developer Ron Mercer hasn't been doing much to update his programme over the last few years, he starts to plan updates then as he states "life gets in the way". Still it looks like he has started work again and has a few updates planned for the future. Look at the top of Qtracker site.

There seem to be a lot fewer servers listed on Qtracker than there were on the in-game server list. Do servers have to "publish" to qtracker? Is that the problem... servers need to install some qtracker utility? In one swift move, SOF2 got killed faster than any other point I remember. :(

Dr Uzi go to the link and read how to connect to servers without the In Game Browser.... OR You can connect to a server in the console by typing............. (back slash)connect 188.165.252.147:20950 this is the CH Players server IP address..... Hope this helps you...

Thanks DooGie for the detailed info. I have just tried again and cannot get onto a game. Doh...I am a bit of a computer idiot but can usually eventually figure things out... Will the list just come on the server again? I do hope so. I can't be without SoF...lol, after all these years.

Hello friends. Just confirming that the server list is down for me too... so it is a global thing, not a problem with your PC, firewall or ISP. Let's hope they come back up! SOF2 will live on so long as the server list runs! And yes, as recommended, I've now installed Qtracker. :D

You can conigure the GUI of Qtracker any way you want. Years ago I used to use All Seeing Eye so when that was discontinued I installed Qtracker and played around so the GUI looked like ASE. Now I have a list of games on the left hand side, on the SOF2 entry I created 2 new folders, favs gold and favs silver. If you select either of these no servers will be found until you enter an IP. So if I wanted to enter CH server as a fav in silver I'd click on the favs silver folder copy the IP from sofplayers site and paste it into the blank right hand space. Alternatively if you want a ready made list of servers just right click on the SOF2 icon in Qtracker and on the drop down list select Find Internet Games. A list should then appear on the right hand side of the screen. Right click the server you want to join and select Connect. Hope this helps m8.

Ok, I just had another look...lol, I was trying to get into the server admin, so it was asking for password...lol I still can't find out how to actually get into a game using QTracker... I am a bit of a dumb ass when it comes to computer stuff...lol

When is it asking for a password Uzi ? I've used it for years and never had that happen. The only time you should need a password is if you're trying to use rcon on a server, then it obviously asks for the rcon password. Try asking the question on the Qtracker forum linked to.

Once you have the server list working just add each one to favourites at the bottom of the server list page and then you always have a listing for the servers. It works on v1 and v3

Pleased to hear that Qtracker helped Nido. I've used it for years now :) The only problem is that both Qtracker and HLSW are no longer being developed as the servers for new games work in a different way to SOF2 and early COD games.

Hi Nido.... it seems the SOF2 master server is not working to show the list of servers.... Don't know if it is permanent or not. Anyway you can use a program like HLSW or Qtracker to see what SOF2 servers are available.... you can also connect to a server in the console by typing connect 188.165.252.147:20950 this is the CH Players server IP address..... Hope this helps you...
