I had to do a tracert to the server myself tonight as I had 200+ ping and the last 3 hops at leaseweb were the problem but my ping had been fine all evening until about 30 minutes ago.....

Can't say it was the server Degem as it was smooth and lag free for me.... maybe somewhere in the route to the server you had a weak spot... try doing a traceroute to the server IP..... Good games tonight on the server .

Yes Degem the SPACE key is no use for binding anything to.... I used to try it as the "use" key to spec people in First Person and it worked ok until you disconnected and returned to the server when I would have to re-do the bind..... since binding it to another key it works ok... the bind for speccing in First Person is bind x +use x being any key you want to use.

Therefore if u have to change hi jump to a different key only gives adavantage if u learn the key so the high jump is; bind (key) "+moveup; wait 4; -moveup; wait 4; +movedown; wait 4; -movedown" the high jump is;

Just thought of a problem with high jump script. You can't use it on space bar because space bar no matter wat u change it to goes back to jump.

Ahhh, 50 is a lefty :-) In general I think people put many task on just one hand and usually leave the mouse-hand to just aim and shot. As mentioned mu mouse hand handles back, lean left/right (thumb) but it also handles sniperzoom (button above scrollwheel), weapon-selection and weapon-toggle (scrollwheel) and a special toggle (button below scrollwheel). In fact I have often toyed with the idea of replacing the keyboard with a second mouse. I only games let you do movements as a combination if two mice ...

Because I use my left hand for the mouse I use the arrow keys and all surrounding keys for other uses such as reload, crouch, jump, lean, grenade toggle (yes I have a key to toggle the grenade), and also weapon toggle.

I still cannot imagine why anyone would want to use wasd. It's the most hand-unfriendly keys and if I should have four movement keys for left hand I would even prefer asdf. ... but I use asx myself and lean and back is handled on mouse giving me (IMO) the perfect relaxed setup and I hardly move a finger when playing. I have been able to do similar setups for all fps games.

It allows me to lean left and right using a and g and crouch c. I use q for quick weapon toggle and still have other keys with left hand i can reach and set up

Ok here is another tip on sof2. Everyone uses wasd to move, that is letters on keyboard. Now if u move one letter to right gives u edsf. So y move. Well it opens up keys to left and right that wud be unreachable with ur fingers. Also gives on left and right more options to use keys.

Y don't u Doogie give a tweak of the week, for a start sof2 rate is 1000 because it was designed for 56k modems. shud be set to at least 15000. and because rate set at 1000 snaps set at 25 so good tip increase rate and set snaps at 35. All modern machines shud be able to cope with that

I am only trying to give info to ur current players to improve their gameplay. If a player thinks thats all he or she has nothing else to give to win then they will leave. By telling them there are tweaks to the game that make u a better player then they will continue to play.

Yes its a bug in the game and can understand when someone comes on with a script to lean crouch. Can see y slug feels it is a cheat on sof2v1. Seen it often and wud on sof2v1 like to see that banned but thats impossible unfortunately

Don't totally agree Degem but OSP in Gold had a fix for this also. Thing is you can actually get headshots in v1 on someone who is crouch/leaning by aiming where the head should be if they weren't leaning. For me a bug in the game which was exploited but not a hack.

If crouch lean is used by not looking round corners but actually in game then its a cheat because on lean the game will not allow u to hit the head. In rpm mod it does allow that so i wud be ok with that on rpm but not sof2v1.

LOL Slug for someone who was so anti PB when I was running Axis you seem to invent your own rules about what should be allowed and what shouldn't :) For me crouch/lean is fine, if it can be done in game by using 2 keys then why not simolify it and bind it to one. Also I'm pretty relaxed about seta com_maxfps "333", for me Gameservers went well over the top on that one. I remember getting kicked a few times for that. tbh I don't know why I've posted this as the subject of binds doesn't really interest me anymore unless they are related to true hacks, in that case I'd ban if 100% certain ;-)

We are only talking about changes that affect how you can play the game. NOT talking about binds that say hello or change the colour of your name or take screenshots and oodles of other things that do not affect the gameplay. If an auto exec calls up a script that alters gameplay then it may well fall into my category of unfair play.

the options on sof2 cannot be used to make all the changes needed for sof2 therefore they give u the chance to find out all the commands allowed. open console and type "cmds" then type "condump cmds" in your base folder mp folder u will find a file called cmds open with wordpad and not notepad and u can find all hidden commands for the console.
